LOS MEJORES SOLOS

De cada libro lo mejor.
De todo libro se puede obtener información útil o inútil. En el libro "MusicHound Jazz: the essential album guide", Steve Holtje - Nancy Ann Lee, 1998, Visible Ink Press, ISBN 1-57859-031-0, se incluyen los llamados "Monster Solo", momentos especialmente notables tanto en la trayectoria de sus intérpretes como en la historia del jazz. Se reproduce la lista de este libro incluyendo el intérprete (y el grupo con el cual fue grabado ese gran solo, si no está a su nombre), el tema, el disco de donde se ha extraído, el sello en el que fue editado, su año de grabación y el instrumento con el que lo interpretó.
Nota muy importante: como sucede con toda selección existe una arbitrariedad a la hora de escoger uno u otro solo de tal o cual personaje, lo mismo que a la hora de seleccionar un intérprete u otro. En el fondo se están tratando con 98 solos de todos los que han tenido lugar en la historia del jazz. Su interés es simplemente orientativo y puede servir de ayuda para que cualquier persona que quiera escuchar uno u otro tema de tal o cual personaje, sepa en dónde se produce uno de esos momentos especiales que ponen la carne de gallina y te provocan las ganas de mover los pies y tocar el saxo, o la batería o la guitarra,...
